Shipman & Goodwin Successfully Implements Collections for Legal Software Aderant Expert

ATLANTA – Dec. 3, 2014 – Aderant, the world’s largest independent legal software company, announced today that long-term partner Shipman & Goodwin LLP upgraded to the latest version of the practice and financial management system Aderant Expert and is the first Aderant client to go live on the new Expert Collections module. The system upgrades will streamline the firm’s accounting processes and provide enhanced tools for collections activities and team oversight.

Beginning in 2006, Shipman & Goodwin undertook a series of initiatives to better analyze the firm’s profitability and key metrics on collections and billing, enabling them to get a better understanding of the legal industry’s changing needs. However, gaining a high-level view of collection activity data remained a cumbersome process, which made it difficult for firm management to quickly access some of the information they required, such as managing staff workload and examining collections data in a global view.

In anticipation of the new Collections module, Shipman & Goodwin also determined that the timing was right for an overall system upgrade to Aderant Expert 8.0 SP2. The firm went live with the upgrade and new module the second week of September and have been exceptionally pleased with their increased functionality.
