This week, Aderant Product Manager Brendan Roy is chatting with us about the iOS Add Time Widget for iTimekeep.
What is the iOS Add Time Widget?
The iOS Add Time Widget is a convenient entry point to the full iTimekeep application, with a deep link taking the user directly to a blank time entry form. The widget simplifies the time entry process into just three quick steps:
- Select the Add Time widget,
- Complete the Time Entry fields, and
- Press Submit.
What problem does the widget address for Aderant clients?
While iTimekeep already has a reputation for its ease of use and speed of entry, every new release aims to make timekeeping even more functional and flexible. Our goal is to improve the user’s productivity by creating and using widgets right from their home screen.
The iOS Add Time Widget further streamlines time entry for lawyers and other timekeepers on their iOS devices. Using this widget, entry is reduced to a few “clicks” as possible. The less time that lawyers spend clicking through applications to record their hours, the more time they will have to focus on their clients’ matters.
What is the widget’s overall impact on the legal industry as a whole?
Most lawyers see timekeeping as a “necessary evil,” and law firms are always looking for ways to remove obstacles and encourage better time entry habits. The convenience of the iOS Add Time Widget prompts lawyers to enter time from their iOS device as the work is performed rather than attempting to enter it later from memory, reducing the likelihood of errors and subsequent billing rejections.
