Executive Profile: Aderant President Inspires Women in Techaderantuser
When Deane Price and two partners created their own company more than 20 years ago, she had two small children. Today, she is president of Aderant, a global IT company that specializes in software for the legal industry … and she has a 3-month-old puppy.
Price shared with Atlanta Business Chronicle her career trajectory and how she came to be the first female president of her current company.
What led you to your career? I majored in management information systems at University of Georgia and was fortunate enough to start my career at a small vertically focused application software company in Atlanta. I spent the bulk of my early career working for this company as it went through many changes in ownership. At 32 years old, I partnered with two coworkers and formed NewEnergy Associates by buying that business from Electronic Data Systems after their acquisition failed to meet their objectives. That was how I leaped into executive leadership; on day one, we had 100 employees and had to learn many things on the fly.
